The Purpose of Pain
In spite of how much you may dislike pain, it serves a purpose. Once you fully realize this you can begin to transcend and release pain, not just manage it. Your body is continually providing you with a wealth of information. If you listen closely it will reveal to you what to eat to be at your ideal weight, the most optimal decisions (that “gut instinct”) and best of all---will stop screaming at
you through pain!!
Medication may help relieve the symptoms but it doesn’t eliminate the core issue creating your pain. In fact over time the scream of pain may increase as your body works even harder to get your attention. The COST of Pain
Running a household is hard enough without the added stress of working outside the home. Without a delicate balance, the mounting stress can become costly to you in more ways than you may realize.
Stress can get stored in the body in various ways and it can build to the point of pain or some other health crisis if you are not taking time for self care. I know first-hand the cost of a health crisis having grown up with a mother with an auto-immune disease and through my own personal health crisis that took the form of unexplained seizures. (See "About Me" page "The Source of My Passion" for details.) Pain can impact your loved ones, your quality of life and drain resources such as your time, energy and money. It is dis-heartening to me that medical bills from even just a visit to the doctor's office, or heaven forbid more substantial medical care, can put someone in debt...even IF they have medical insurance.
Self care is not only important it is CRITICAL. You get one body in this lifetime. Your body, mind and spirit are continually revealing to you how to be your best self. Some of the results of listening: more energy, reestablishing your ideal body weight, and discovering exercise that is not only good for you but that you actually enjoy. Being your best self also makes it easier to be connected to your intuition...things just get SO much easier in general because you know what is and is not in alignment with your current needs and desires!
It is hard to hear your inner wisdom/intuition when your body is screaming at you in pain. Pain also does not allow you to be your best self and therefore you cannot be your best self at work or home. I often hear, "the pain came out of nowhere!" In this fast paced world it’s easy to ignore more subtle messages from your body but pain is often the one that gets your attention. Truth is your body is constantly trying to communicate to you. If you let it, it can act as your guide and GPS to the life you desire.

How are Return to Balance Customized Sessions Different?
Traditional, even therapeutic, massage will often focus on working “on” a body. The relief/benefit of this approach can sometimes be short-lived because the technique applied was focused on “getting” the body to release rather than “allowing” the body to release. The truth is that your body knows EXACTLY what it needs in order to let go/release and it will tell you…if you listen. All of my intuitive hands-on and coaching sessions harness the power of this principle by working “with” your body and creating a
safe, supportive and sacred environment which “invites” your body to release and let go. The resulting release is often more complete and long lasting because it was your body’s OWN decision to “let go”.
These custom designed sessions, however, focus on more than just relieving pain, they are also about discovering and releasing the root cause of the pain. These customized sessions also harness the power of working not only with the body but the mind and spirit as well which can address and eliminate the issues that allowed the pain pattern to take root in the first place.
