Perhaps as you read it you will feel compelled to make your own sovereign vow. Perhaps you will feel nothing. If my words move you, please tell me how and share them with others.
My Sovereign Vow
There is a space that belongs to me alone. It is my sacred ground. If I spread my arms wide I can caress the edges of this hallowed space with my finger tips 360 degrees around.
At it's boundary is the beautiful place where you and I can meet, play and explore. This is where you may offer me your gifts of love and light. I may let them nourish and nurture me, I may not. This is my choice alone. This is my sacred ground.
But be forewarned if you come to this boundary out of malicious this beautiful meeting place becomes an electric force field, you may get thrown back. Your toxicity is not welcome on my sacred ground. I will stand my sacred ground.
I will not contract myself and shrink my sacred container to make you feel better about yourself. I will hold my sacred ground. I will hold firm and stand in my Divinity so that you may remember yours. I will stand my sacred ground.
I will not extend or spill over my sacred ground so that I can be bigger, better or gain your attention and approval. For then I am spread too thin and cannot be there for you or me. I will hold my sacred ground.
When everything feels like it is crumbling and I don't know where to step next I won't shrink, I won't puff up. I will stand my sacred ground.
And when this over-stimulating world makes me want to diminish this sacred container to a skin-tight cocoon, I will hold my sacred ground. I will hold and choose to fill it with exquisite self care and love. I may even find the courage to reach out for some support from you...I may even let it in.
And in those moments when I have forgotten this vow and realize that I have extended myself beyond this sacred container or have shrunk it's size, I will gently and lovingly remind myself that this is unnecessary. I will reclaim my sacred ground.
This is my sovereign vow.
