Hard to believe we are a month into the new year already, how are your resolutions going? Many people set goals around weight loss, fitness and other "bad" habits or addictions. Change, however, takes courage and often comes with resistance. You may not even realize that your ability to receive may be getting in the way of accomplishing those new year's resolutions. When you don't allow yourself to receive in healthy ways, the "void" can often get filled with unhealthy behaviors and habits.
You REALLY want to have less pain…quit smoking ...stop overeating...not watch as much t.v...kick a drinking habit or overcome some other challenge or addiction?? Then you need to look at the healthy ways you allow yourself to receive. Do you take time for yourself or do you continually give, sometimes until it literally hurts?? Do you allow others to help you...connect with you...really SEE and support you?
Women, especially moms, are often natural givers but struggle to receive. It takes courage to receive. I know because I am continually taking steps to receive so that I may live a more balanced life. I debated very heavily on sharing the following video clip. I finally decided to share it because of my 2014 intention "to be seen more fully...light and dark" and to demonstrate the power of receiving. This was a moment in which I got to be courageous and vulnerable simultaneously...in front of over 300 people from 32 different countries and it was being live streamed. From my heart, I share this moment of personal expansion with you:
