I'm just going to come right out and say it, there is SO much crud going around right now. There have been reports of people being sick for not just days but weeks! I've shared the following immune boosting/crud fighting information so many times since the holidays that I decided to just post it.
My regular immune boosting regimen:
Daily (at least): 1000 IU vitamin C, 10,000 IU vitamin D3, and as much sunshine as I can get without freezing my butt off. I also take 2 - 4 ounces of Body Balance a day.
If anyone in my family or I become symptomatic:
I increase vitamin C to 3000 IU and vitamin D3 to 20,000 IU
I increase amount of garlic and ginger in meals
If end up getting sick: I focus on resting as much as possible and staying hydrated. Coconut water is a great way to stay hydrated and replenish electrolytes, especially if you had a loss of appetite while sick. If congested, I use a neti pot and menthol/champhor chest rub.
