After I actually had the guts to post my last blog I rewarded myself with some Facebook time. Not surprising, several posts were also about new year's resolutions and intentions. As I read, the thought struck me that I shared one of my intentions but not how to set an intention for yourself. Rather than being intimidated by these wonderful posts and "shoulding" on myself about how my posts should be more like them I decided to step into the role of being a
resource. So here you go! Below are excerpts and links to the full articles of two blogs I particularly enjoyed.
Creating Powerful Intentions
1. Write down what you REALLY want. Be as specific as possible and write in terms of what you want vs. what you don't want.
2. Rewrite these statements as "I am" phrases. Example: "I want to work out three times a week" becomes "I AM working out three times a week."
3. Elevate the intention by adding gratitude: "I AM grateful I am working out three times a week".

My friend, Sarah Newman also wrote an amazing post on setting intentions including the additional steps:
4. Step into the feeling of what this goal will bring you.
5. Believe that it's possible.
6. Ask for even more! (Often times we don't make our goals BIG enough.)
7. Share it with someone you trust.

That last step is about accountability. This is one of the reasons I decided to share my "being seen" intention publicly...makes me more likely to follow through and show up :-)
I hope you enjoy using these tips to set powerful intentions and create the foundation for your best year yet!
